A big part of the inspiration for this piece came from the music. Kangding Ray’s experimental techno album “Solens Arc” is incredibly dark and powerful, yet truly poetic and subtle. I tried to translate that into a visual experience. The creative process with the dancers is also extremely important to me. I don’t enter the studio with combinations of steps ready to be taught. It’s a work that happens together with the dancers, and their input is crucial to me.
